my pathology results

I started a new thread so you would see what was sent to me via portal. Note from doc said he is not worried about number 4. My sig scope in November showed disease in descending colon and a little in the transverse. Ironically the sigmoid did not show inflammation in Sept sigmoidscopy or November scope and yesterday all was clean. This is good no?

1. Colon, ascending, biopsy:
- Colonic mucosa with no specific pathologic change.

2. Colon, transverse, biopsy:
- Colonic mucosa with no specific pathologic change.

3. Colon, descending, biopsy:
- Colonic mucosa with no specific pathologic change.

4. Colon, sigmoid, biopsy:
- Colonic mucosa with mild crypt architectural distortion, negative for
dysplasia.

5. Rectum, biopsy:
- Colorectal mucosa with no specific pathologic change.

I am glad you are doing better! Still waiting for my improvement.....

I did not see where it said #4/sigmoid was free of active inflammation. - in fact mild inflammations was seen visually.

this is still a good report, it says the IBD evidence is currently confined to sigmoid and the visual report said "mild"

this would be a near-remission

DB I realize that you are doubtful of my remission and yes I am still on a little prednisone- now 2mg but I was more surprised that I had all those normal biopsies than the mild architectural distortion in my sigmoid which is well treated with Rowasa and hasn't showed inflammation in the last 3 scopes.

I would like to know how many people on here who are in remission have all normal pathology without any chronic changes? I know the signs of mild sigmoid inflammation more than my doc does and I haven't felt those symptoms since last spring. I ended up on Humira due to the other inflammation and my doc thinks Crohns due to the irregular pattern of ulcers etc. You are definitely wrong on this one.
