Improvements on remicade??(kinda not really)

Hey so it was my third infusion two days ago (10 mg/kg). Finally I am seeing formed stool but.. My stool is very constipated. I’m going 8-10 times a day with formed but extremely small mucusy stools. On top of that I feel very crampy and my sharp stomach pain has not gone away. Is this possible signs of improvement or no? I went from having mushy stool/diarrhea with mucus 4 times a day with stomach pain/cramps to having formed stool mucusy stool 8 times a day with stomach pain and cramping..also seeing trickles of blood on the stool itself maybe from possible hemmroids? Is this normal? Currently on remicade, meslamine enemas, budesonide, cortifoam.

Formed stool is always a sign of healing higher up. Sounds like you still have rectal inflammation though. Give it more time.

I agree. When I have a flare and then I go in for my Remicade infusion....I feel cramps where the inflammation is.

I would watch it and call my GI to report it though... That way it is on your records.

I hope it kicks in and puts you in remission.

I think it sounds like you've had a bit of improvement. The reality with all these drugs is, they work for a percent of people, there are always going to be some of us in the 40% who do not respond. Hopefully your improvements are the beginning of a long remission.

How long on the enemas?

Are you taking probiotics and/or fibre supplements?
