Hello everyone i am new here a friend of mind recommended this website for great advice and a great place to just vent nobody else i know really understand my situation.
Ill tell you a little about
me i am 30 year old male i have been having digestive issues for a few months I will tell you it has been nothing but stressful and overthinking the worst these past few months. i have met with 2 GI doctors after i spoke with the first one and told him about
my symptoms which are occasional mucous in stool , occasional diarrhea but usually solid stool depending on what i eat, occasional constipation ,excessive gas , stomach rumbling , occasional stomach spasm that feel like somebody is pinching my colon last about
1 second this doesn't happen to often though, i also have felt it in my rectum a total of 8 times or so these past few months its not really painful it just feels weird (I have gotten my rectum checked for blood in stool multiple times came back no blood), i have only really felt pain about
2 times lower left abdomen for a few seconds. and undigested fiber food in stool a couple of times. there are moments in the day were i feel completely fine like i did before my digestive issues
After my labs and CT SCAN came back fine no inflammation G I doc says you have no blood in stool no urgency you have IBS and sent me on my way. i searched for another G I doctor to get a second opinion to ease my mind as soon as i told him my symptoms he said " you most likely have ulcerative proctitis " he scheduled me for a colonoscopy in 2 weeks to see the "severity of the inflammation" he said that i need to prepare myself for whats about
to happen because my life is about
to change i will have to deal with this for the rest of my life and i will need medication every day. i asked him why i have not seen blood and he said it will come eventually i also asked if there were any diet change i can make to make sure that the blood doesn't come and he says diet has nothing to do with it it just happens .
These next 2 weeks of waiting for my colonoscopy will be hard an even more stressful it seems my fears are coming to a reality its really hard for me to stay positive i have a few questions i also just needed to vent thank you for reading if you made it this far.
Is there a chance that the second G I doctor is wrong and i dont have ulcerative proctitis? he seemed to be pretty sure i have it even though i dont have blood in stool the first GI doctor told me not to worry that i have IBS..
Can IBS really make me feel these symptoms ?
How do you guys stay positive with IBD? how do you not let fearing the worst take over your life?
when in remission can you eat like you could before UP ?
how does tenesmus feel ? like you have to diarrhea or release a bowel movement but its just gas? I’m not sure if I ever felt this is it constant all day every day ?
