Hey everyone!
It's been almost a year since I last posted here. I'm still doing 1gr Salofalk suppositories daily. Blood and mucus disappeared after the first suppository but the rest of my symptoms stay the same. Morning rush, Bristol #5, sometimes #6, urgency, anal itching and burning. Usually, I go anywhere from 4 to 6 times a day.
Colonoscopy results from a year ago:
* Terminal ileum: normal.
* Cecum: normal.
* Ascending, Transverse: minimal architectural distortion, otherwise unremarkable.
* Descending, sigmoid: normal.
* Rectum: chronic proctitis, moderate activity, consistent with known ulcerative colitis.
In addition, I've also had elevated calprotectin levels, the test was done a year ago. My last calprotectin test 6 months ago was normal. However, I was eating mashed carrots/meat only back then and felt generally normal.
In one month I will have an appointment with my GI doc. During my last visit she said that I have IBS, no tests to confirm this diagnosis have been done. I'm planning to request a calprotectin test again. Is there anything else that I could to ask to help diagnose my issue? So far, only diet has had good results, but it's extremely hard to keep up with it.
Unfortunately, my quality of life remains the same as it was before the medication. It doesn't seem to me that my doc knows how to help me.
Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you.
