I quickly got to overnight. A few evenings I got up to expel earlier.
It works topically. An anti-inflammatory is best when in contact for the duration. IF it was an antibiotic or something it could act in a short time with lasting results (i.e., killed microbes take a while to repopulate). But this is inflammation. It is more like applying an ice-pack. There is some benefit after removing, but mostly during contact.
These enemas cost a lot. For many, we endure inconvenience to apply. The longer retained, then better bang for your money and effort.
But, once you get hours, I would not worry as much over each additional hour.
