Are you drinking water throughout the day? As ipoop suggests, dehydration can cause dizziness. Staying well-hydrated is especially important when one takes 5-ASA meds for UC treatment. Also, members posting here have reported problems with generic (balsalazide) in the past; you might ask your pharmacist who makes the capsules in your Rx supply-- because some pharmaceuticals seem to be more reliable than others, with regard to side effects. Generics can differ by secondary ingredients (i.e., "fillers")! On the other hand, Balsalazide/Colazal is especially effective for treating left-sided UC; if you have pancolitis you might do better on Asacol, Lialda, or Pentasa. / Old Hat (38 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
