I don't take capsules of pseed, only a large spoonful of powdered psyllium seed. But I don't take it every day since it tastes like dirt, only when needed, about once a week or so.
It works because it breaks down into butyrate by gut bacteria and butyrate nourishes the cells in the colon. Works very well with probiotics. For me it feels almost like plaster of Paris in its effectiveness to plug a leaky gut.
The reason why I don't need to take it every day is because of my diet. I try to avoid triggering foods and also to improve my overall health last year I started eating oat bran for breakfast about 4 times a week. Oat bran isn't the best tasting food either but it is much better than psyllium seed. Besides lowering cholesterol and blood sugar, oat bran is also broken down into butyrate although not as efficiently as Pseed.
