I've had 4 colonoscopies in 5 years. At the one last week my doc mentioned I'll be due for a cancer screen next year (every 2 years)
Previous two scopes I did the Miralax/Dulcolax prep and it did not work well enough. So this time the doc prescribed Nulytely (actually I got the generic instead). The information said it should start working about
an hour after starting the prep, but within 25 minutes I was already going. I drank about
1/2 the gallon prep, took a break, and then had about
another liter at 11:00 pm, to be safe. I couldn't finish the full 4 liters, but I was cleaned out well enough. Report summary said prep was "good". So I'll take it.
The taste actually wasn't that bad. But I took all of the advice I'd seen. Drank it chilled, with a straw, and had a hard candy to chase it. Actually I used a green ring-pop for convenience. Even still, by the end it was making me sick and I thought I'd never be able to do it again. So I'm hoping my brain will do that thing were it forgets the pain and unpleasantness.
I really hope my doc did the cancer screen while she was there so I don't have to do this again next year.
