Can anyone recommend a good probiotic that has helped and make a difference for them? I have typically used the Align generic brand at my local drugstore. I know there are more expensive ones out there. Are they worth it for UC sufferers?

I was taking VSL. I now take the CVS brand pearls and they are working fine for me.

I had no success at all with VSL DS #3. Just gave me crazy flatulence.

Homemade yogurt. Cheap, easy and more live bacteria then one could ever get from supplements.

My GI recommended ALIGN Energy & Immune. It's a combination pro and prebiotic, gummy.

I also take ULTIMATE FRIENDLY FLORA, probiotic. 25 billion CFU. They seem to help, and work for me.

I recently found out my beloved VSL#3 formulation was changed and the original creator sued the company for his patent then broke off and used his original VSL#3 formula and branded it as Visbiome. I really like Visbiome and take it along with Sacchromyces boulardii (GI pro health on Amazon). So far I like it.

The active ingredients in vsl3 did not change. The rest of the formulation did. For most people it should not make a difference if you choose visbiome or vsl3, unless you're intolerant to the inactive ingredients.
