Sounds crazy, but my 75 year old father went to the ER, cause: fatigue, lack of appetite, unwell ness, etc.
Symptoms: Blood in stools, extreme fatigue, shortness of breath.
Lab work known and communicated: anemia, hbg 5
Hospital is keeping him overnight pending a GI visit tomorrow (Sunday)
And a Kidney Doctor too (forgot what they're called)
What would be the odds? I got diagnosed in my 40s. Can my -1 cig pack/day- dad be the ONE genetic relative with an IBD in his 70s? (I've only read a few "academic" ncbi studies showing a small sample of <20 (50-70yr) showing DX. Anyway...
I'm a thousand miles from home (where mom and dad live), and I asked them if they even did a c-diff test, CRP, ESR; they said they didnt think so. Forget about
fecal calpro.
Is this even possible?????? Has anyone here had a late onset DX on a relative with UC?
Thanks you so much and looking so forward to reading any ANY thoughts/ideas/DXs/Experiences/theories/comfortingthoughts
