That's good to hear, thank you! Yes, I think I will be, too! I'm already relieved to not have to get any more infusions (for now, at least). I got the co-pay assistance card set up today and talked with my mail-order pharmacy. The doctor's office again called it into the wrong pharmacy. I went through this with them with Remicade. At least now I know the process, lol.

Thank you, PA! Omg, that's ridiculous diabetes is now in your record! That was my guess as well regarding the glucose result. I wish we couldi all just go into remission forever and forget about all this stress...

I watched YouTube videos tonight about other people with IBD using Humira. One girl showed how to use the pen. It's helpful to have all these resources on the internet at least.

Why did they have you try Entyvio first?

Haha, ok, makes sense, just wondered. Entyvio seems like a good med. I didn't choose it yet because my doctor said it does usually take a long time to kick in. I hope Remicade does get you into remission by end of December! I'm more scared of the azathioprine than the Humira. :/

Try and get your iron levels up, or else you're bound to start feeling fatigue (if you're not already fatigued).

For those of you on Humira, did they send someone out to your house to show you how to inject it the first time? Was it a Humira "ambassador?" My GI said Humira has billions in profits annually and can afford to send folks to your house. Lol.

When I did Simponi I went to the doctor's office for the first dose. I believe that they can afford to send someone - these dugs cost an arm and a leg. You're like a cash cow to them!! I'd have done it if it were offered to me. Going to the doctor's office was never something I enjoyed.

Well, I'm getting my Humira delivered Saturday. My doctor's office never even called my correct specialty pharmacy with the script (or me back) since I asked them to Tuesday morning after they told me they again called it into CVS (when I have to go thru Walgreens). I just found out it was approved yesterday by calling insurance again tonight on my own. Hoping it works for me. Haven't heard back from a Humira rep yet. I called the lab at the hospital and some girl there said she isn't trained in it, but that she could probably show me how to do it on Saturday if I wanted to bring it in. Maybe it isn't hard at all, but I'd feel better if someone showed me how the first time, I think.

Yep. Like ambling said. I don’t do needles — hate them. But I can self inject my migraine meds with no problem when using the pen. My migraine pens come with a handy dandy instruction sheet. Super easy and just a little sting.

I am glad that the nurse at the doc's office showed me how to do it. If you are going to try it yourself, be sure that the pen is firmly on your pinched skin at a right angle before pressing the trigger. Then hold it there until the little window on the pen completely changes color. I always held the pen in place a few seconds after that just to be sure all the med was released. Use different spots for injecting. My loading doses were kinda in a circle around my belly button.

And if you're worried about a sting from the shot, I've heard icing the spot 1st helps! Some have no issue at all with the injection but some are more sensitive. I believe the loading-doses have you doing multiple shots.

Yeah, I got my flu shot and was small talking continuously to the nurse while she did that shot and I did not flinch or react at all. Dentist sometimes mentions that I do not have much reaction (if any) to what he's doing (drilling whatever). Just tell him, I'll see him any day over getting unsedated endoscopy from my GI. UC flares and procedures raise the bar for what truly hurts, and mutes the rest :-p
