Ultrasound Effective in Monitoring Ulcerative Colitis

Well, that would be awesome! Especially since I am fairly convinced that my last colonoscopy put me in this most recent flare after being in remission for 2yrs and with scope results saying "disease free"!

That would be so great! Scopes are such hassle -- from the pre-prep anxiety, through the disgusting prep day, and having to arrange to interfere with some else's day to take you to & from the scope. By the time I get to the actual scope I am just thankful that the ordeal is almost over.

Last time I had a scope my doc said "wow, you have a lot of these". It was all I could so not to scream at him that was because he kept insisting I needed them!

The only thing is that with ultrasounds you couldn't do biopsies. But having this as a tool would have eliminated most of my scopes where the doc really just wanted to see the extent of my flare.
