Flare 2weeks after Entyvio Infusion

So basically, 2 out the last 4 Entyvio infusions I’m starting to flare up about 2 weeks after the infusion. Had 1 in January, i did great. March had one and bam full flare, pred was the only thing that stopped it. Had another was fine and now had one 2 weeks ago and here we are again, blood in stool, going 4-8 times a day but no cramping or discomfort just loose stool. Gradually getting worse as the days go on and I’m getting extremely tired. Still eating well and working but it’s getting worse. We’ve done Entyvio blood test and had a colonoscopy in the last 6 months. No antibodies from Entyvio.

Any suggestions? Other then enemas or suppository.

You could try a fiber supplement to bulk up the stools. And adding steroid enemas would be good too. Those should start to help pretty quickly but can take some time. 6 wk infusions can help keep higher levels of Entyvio in your system longer. It would take a couple infusions to see if it works at all. Sometimes we all flare no matter what drug we are on. Some are able to treat the flare and stay on the same med with no further problems. If you were doing well on Entyvio before might be worth trying to treat it one more time before moving on.

I’m allergic to mesalamine. My insurance won’t cover enemas and I’m not a fan of suppositories. Pred is the only thing that has stopped my flares in the past.
What other medications do y’all recommend? I did a pred taper already in March.
