Just wondering if this has happened to anyone before. I’ve been on pred since July and last week I started to get blurry vision. Started noticing it a lot while driving and yea it’s freaking me out. Called the GI and he told me to stop taking pred for 5 days and then we’d re-evaluate the situation. Coming of off 20mg of pred last 4days has not been fun. Still waiting on my stelera, I do have an appointment on the 27th for an infusion. Hopefully sooner.
Has anyone had blurred vision and it came back to normal? Still flaring like a mofo…😢.

Yes, I had pred affect my vision this last round and am no longer allowed to take it. I developed a retinopathy in my right eye, which still has not completely resolved (its like a blister on the retina, so straight lines such as grids appear a bit wavy). The eye doctor says in time it should completely resolve and if not, he can laser it out. It doesn't really bother me, so I am just going to live with it for now. I was on high doses of pred due to a couple of hospital stays in October. Not sad to say goodbye to pred, but worried about getting out of my next flare without it. Right now Remicade seems to be working.

Yes Pred is known to cause temporary vision side effects. Should clear up post-pred. Any concerns, I'd see an optometrist.

I had this in 2019 along with some really achy eyes. I saw my opthamologist about it and said it should resolve once I was off of pred but they did a full checkup on my eyes. They told me my eyes were a little bit dry but nothing else to worry about. As soon as I stopped taking pred it resolved, but it is scary when it happens.

Yes but remember just as equally your issue could be related to UC and your flare which can cause uevitis and other eye ailments during flares (and sometimes independent of flares).

Also I found out when I visited my opthamologist that pred usage can cause a “certain type” (not sure exactly what that meant) of cataract.
