Doing the 4g retention enemas at night and wondering if its better to do a 1g Salofalk suppository in the morning or the budesonide foam?
Bearing in mind that I had been doing the budesonide foam on mornings for 6 months which hasn’t helped at all, however I was doing it with only a 1g Salofalk suppository at night.
My symptoms are bleeding with every BM and a lot of discomfort and throbbing in the rectum/anal canal after a BM. No hemorrhoids.
Retention + suppository
Retention + budesonide foam
Which would be better?

One isn't better than the other...depends on your needs. Try one then try the other.
Your butt will let you know what works for you. You could alternate morning meds and see if thats ok. Some have done a foam then used the mesalamine suppository a bit afterward. I've never done it, tho.
Other option is to use the budesonide morning and night...You'll need an rx change from your GI.

You might get better relief from throbbing with a supp that has lidocaine or pramoxine in it, or else try to get a lubricant containing either of those to apply on your Rx supps before inserting. / Old Hat (40+ yrs with left-sided UC; in remission taking Colazal)

Dicyclomine (generic — think the brand name is bentyl) — antispasmodic for the throbbing!

Im a little concerned about doing double budesonide foam Quincy since Ive already been using that for 6 months daily, albeit just in the morning.
Wonder is the meds would be negatively affected by applying that to it Old Mike?
Thanks FlowersGal, I take a pill called Spasmoctyl which contains otilonium bromide but Not sure it helps much, plus is it really spasm’s Im getting? Feels more like the veins throbbing since a BM just scraped the walls and bled.. what you suggest could still help you think?
