Started Humira 1 Week Ago...

...And so far, so good! As far as I can tell, I've had no side effects. I understand it takes quite a bit longer than 1 week for the real benefits to start showing (if they do, for me), and I'm just wondering what other people's experience was on Humira. Seen the horror stories - those side effects and issues all seem to be pretty evident immediately, though, so fingers crossed, they don't/won't apply to me. For people who had a good experience with Humira until it stopped working, how effective was it? How quickly did you see results? Is there anything else that I should know? Is it a gradual improvement, or do you wake up one day and everything is suddenly magically much, much better if not perfect?

I am definitely going to the toilet less, although I tapered Prednisone down yesterday (now on 10mg/day) and last night I had to wake up quite a few times. AFAIK, it is fairly normal for my body to do this for a few days after a taper, so I'm not too worried about it. Blood has all but gone (yay!) and mucus seems to be decreasing, as do the pretty impressive farts that accompany it. I also seem to have improved digestion; foods that would previously pass through apparently untouched - if worse for wear - are no longer visible. But it's all still diarrhea, and I still do have lingering stomach pains (they're 'tingly ouchies' and usually indicate a toilet trip is needed soon, rather than horrific cramps). I'm also taking 4g Pentasa granules (oral) and 1g Pentasa (suppository) for now.

Fingers crossed Humira will work for me! I'm super impatient for it to work so I can claw my life back from the toilet. I never thought I'd say this, but I dream of the day I pass a properly formed stool. Heck, I'll probably take pictures and throw a party....
