I recently started on probiobtics, but there are so many different kinds, I'm not sure if i picked a good one.. I have started with FLoraMore, has anyone else taken this?   I know alot of people do the vsl#3.. just wondering what kinds people are taking and for what reasons, or are they all pretty similiar?

No, they're not all similar, you need at least 5 billion CFU, the one I take is primadophilus reuteri made by natures way, it has guaranteed intestinal release, many of the others don't make it past the stomach acid.

I'd do some research and look for one that provides test results on viable, live cultures. There are alot of cheapos out there that don't live up to their claims. I use Custom Probiotics' six strain blend.

pb4 suggested Primadophilus Reuteri to me about a month ago and I think it is an effective probiotic. I take it first thing every morning.  It seems with probiotics you get what you pay for.  There are a lot of cheap ones out there with low bacteria counts.

I find the Primadophilus prices quite well considering how affective it's been for me, 28.00 canadian but only one/day is needed and I get 90 caps in a bottle so for under 30 I have a 90 day supply. I bought flora Q for about the same, maybe a little more but it's required you take up to 4/day so that makes it quite pricy...and I did not find the flora Q any better then the primadophilus for me anyways.

pb4 - I just ordered some primadophilus reuteri from my health food store. The probiotic i was taking seems to help me, but it's sort of pricey - $36 for 30 pills, 1 pill per day. I should get it by Friday. Hopefully it works as well for me as it has for you.

I sure hope so, please keep us posted on how it goes....and make sure they ship it cold-packed as it must be kept cold so don't forget to put it in your fridge when you get it.

Just started the primadophilus reuteri last night. I will update you as to how it goes.  It doesn't have any bifido strains in it which I have heard that people w/UC need that one...but I don't really understand all of this probiotic stuff so I could be totally wrong.

I paid $10.87 (US) for 30 pills which is a lot cheaper than what I was paying ($37, but it also had 50 billion CFU and lots of different strains)

KJ35 - Wow, that link sells it for super cheap. Maybe I should buy from them next time...only $16 for 90 pills.

Hi, icanrace - I can't tell if it's doing anything or not. I've been switching between the reuteri and Ultimate Flora probiotics (50 billion CFU), about every couple of months. I also eat yogurt every day and sometimes drink DanActive or Naked probiotic drink (I think it's new and it tastes really good) Along with my meds and other supplements, it's hard to tell what's helping.

Let me know how it works out for you.

Like so many others I am confused as to which pb to take. I take ultra flora plus DF capsules, made by Metagenics. Has anyone ever heard of this one?
I have taken others including primadophilus reuteri made by natures way. I am afraid to switch because things are going well and I don't want to make a change that would screw things up. But I guess this is the best time to experiment(I'm looking for a cheaper one). Does anyone use more than one and alter them?

I thought primadophilus reuteri was priced very well, why not just take it alone, maybe it alone is doing the job for you?
