Has anyone had any side effects from Colazal?

None whatsoever, and I got side effects from almost everything else I tried. It did not get me into remission, but when I went off it things got worse, so it definitely has made a difference. Compliance has been an issue, but I set my PDA to remind me to take my afternoon dose, I take the other doses at wake-up and at bedtime, so that's been working out. I can even swallow all three of those horse pills at the same time now!

Colazal has been more helpful/tolerable for me than any of the older 5-ASAs. One side effect I did get around 10 weeks into 3 X 3 capsules daily: AM dizziness. We had a thread about this in March or April; I remember that DallasGuy complained about dizziness, too. My gastro decided that I could try a so-called "step-up, step-down approach" to see if lower dose Colazal would keep me in remission. It did for 20 months w/o side effects. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC; currently on 3 X 3 Colazal daily for July flare in descending colon; should be back in remission soon)

When I first started it I had a floating feeling and headaches. But after my body got used to it, all was fine.

Meesh, it's funny you mentioned the 3 in one swallow now. I do the same thing but one morning, I took my 3 Colazal, Forvia vitamin, biotin and a Prilosec all in one mouthful and swallowed before I realized what I did! lol Luckily I didn't choke!

I love the colazal.I think my stools are softer because of it, but that's fine with me, and it may just be my new normal.

 I get then down three at a time with rarely a problem.

Sherry, you got away with it because you weren't thinking about it!

I've taken 3 colazal and two small b vitamin capsules at once. It does get easier.

Colazal has worked wonders for me. I have noticed that my stools have been softer, and I find that I'm incredibly tired most of the time. I'm not sure if the tiredness is a side effect of the Colazal or if it's just caused by my UC, but given how much better it's made me feel, I deal with it.

My stools are definitely softer on Colazal. Besides that no side effects for me.....and I typically get every side effect known to man!

nothing that im aware of...im on 6/day but lately have been alternating between 5 and 6 as im mostly in remission

No side effects, but I'm not sure it's actually done anything for me either.

I tried taking Colazal early in my diagnosis, but my symptoms got measureably worse (I was already flaring with d, bleeding, cramps...), so my GI said I was probably having a reaction to the carrier in it. I've never tried it since....about 5 years ago.
