Narrowing in colon- Crohn's or UC? Lots of ????'s

Hello everyone. I haven't posted in ages because I have been somewhat well. I have been battling iritis this summer and decided to seek out a new GI. Well, I had a new colonoscopy today (last one was last summer) as the new GI was concerned that I might be battling Crohn's and not UC. Well, I am inflamed from the rectum up 25 cms. I have a narrowing at 12-15 cms that had her concerned. She took many biopsies. I have a skin tag and then the eye condition that seems more common in Crohn's than UC.

Has anyone else experienced a narrowing in your colon (I think they also call it a stricture)? If so, what was done? etc....

Thanks in advance for any of your valued advice/experience. Right now she suggested to restart the enemas and then we will meet this Thursday to discuss the results and also possible Imuran!

Hi Kristen, in a recent CT my Gi found a narrowing or the colon (stricture) and had a sig with multiple biopsies. He never mentioned that I could have Chrons but i think mine may have been a continuous section from the rectum up. Your doc's questioning seems like it may be because of the location. Not too sure.

As for what was done...just biopsies. Strictures are more common in those of us who have had this diesease for 10-20 years. It's scarring that has taken years to build up. The main concern is cancer. I guess it is more prevalant in patients with strictures.

Did you have biopsies done at your last scope? J

ust after finding out about the narrowing I started Imuran too. I have been on it for ...month and a half I think? It's in my sig.
