so on my way to a job interview (a job i would kill to have)i rear ended a car. i know it is my fault but the car stopped so suddenly (because the car in front of him stopped and took off because he/she didn't have a license). anyway, i totally missed the interview and the police thought i was nuts because i had to go to the bathroom so i was talking so quickly (bein nervous and needing to go to the bathroom) and the police guy had the audaciity to ask me if i had been DRINKING (IT WAS 11 AM!!) because i was in such a rush to get out of there ( i really really needed to go to the bathroom). anyway, i missed the job interview and now i have to dea with insurance and i looked sketchy because i needed to leave ASAP (ugh).
sorry, just needed to vent....thanks guys.

That sucks, birdiem! I'm glad you are okay at least. Did your car get damaged? If your insurance questions your need to leave ASAP, I'm sure you can just explain about your UC. I would try not to worry about that part.

I totaled my car (which I loved!) 2 years ago. I ran through a red light and hit a truck. Now the guy is sueing me, even though my insurance company already covered all his expenses. And get this - he's sueing for chiropractor bills that he has no record of and his chiropractor is his dad...it seems a little sketchy.

Anyway...sorry you had to go through that. Accidents suck, but they happen to everyone at some time or other. And I know you really wanted that job, but there will be more interviews. Sometimes I like to think everything happens for a reason.

What a super huge bummer!

Are you okay? No injuries from the accident?

Any way to reschedule the interview?

Aw Katie, I'm sorry it was such a bad day. First of all, are you OK? A car (or parts) can be replaced. You can't. As Sara said, you had a good reason to leave quickly. Don't worry about that.

Can you call the company about the job interview and maybe reschedule? Explain what happened. If it is meant to be, it will happen. If not, something better will come along.

Try to relax and not let the day get to your body. Stay healthy!

OMG-- you really had a tough day! Hopefully you can explain & get the job interview rescheduled, but I agree with above replies that the main thing is-- you escaped injury, thankfully. Best wishes for positive events soon. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

I agree maybe they will let you reschedule your interview -
as for the police man, I almost think I would write a letter to the police department chief or who ever and explain to them what you have and tell the what the police man accused you of.

The more upset it seems I get about stuff the worse the UC acts,
I am sorry for your bad day, and am glad that you are okay.

Maybe this will make you smile, several years ago I got pulled over for speeding well I dont know if it was you guys call moon face or what but I felt like I looked like a freak, and started rambling a the police man - and he just looked at me and acted like he could not get away from me fast enough. ( it was on a country road and I was not meaning to be speeding I was just not paying attention) but I did not get a ticket, but I later wondered what he thought I was -

Again I am so thankful you were not hurt!

Thanks for all the reassuring words, guys. You are right, the most important thing is that no one was hurt (and the guy let me reschedule my interview for Thursday...of course I lied and said someone rear-ended ME, not I rear-ended someone else....). Anyway, thanks for sharing your stories, it's definitely good to know I am not alone in my driving idiocy.
