Remicade - how soon did you start getting better?

I will be starting remicade next week and would like to know if anyone can remember how soon they started seeing a difference in their symptoms.  How long did it take you to start feeling better? Thanks to all!

Hi MagiMae, and welcome to HealingWell! I've been on Remi for over two years now, and I was really lucky in that the Remi worked almost overnight for me. With other folks it has taken a bit longer, sometimes weeks, or even several infusions to feel better. Everyone is so different that it's hard to say what will work and how long it might take to work for you. I will say that it's been heaven sent for me, and I'm happy I made the decision to go the Remi route. I think it took me 1-2 infusions

I felt great within a few days of my first two infusions, but the last one didn't "kick in" as well as the previous ones. My GI thinks it is because I am also under a great deal of personal stress right now. I have seen some improvement since the last one, so I am glad for that at least.

I was nervous about the whole process, but it is really very straight forward and painless. Where I go there's a TV, they started providing iPods if you ask for one, but I have my own Zune. I usually just bring a book. It takes 2-3 hours for the infusion. Last time I had to schedule it early in the morning and I just slept through it.

After my second infusion, I thought I felt better, but it wasn't dramatic enough to be sure it wasn't just "wishful thinking." After the third one, I saw a definite decrease in my symptoms and increase in my energy. It continued to slowly but steadily get better for about the first 9 months, then stabilized.
