Very emotional lateley again, going into remi#4 tomorrow, Holidays coming

As you all know by the slipping into the holiday season so quickly, all that will be upon us shortly.  I love Christmas, but I am dreading it this year - and I feel better colitis wise than last year.  Perhaps the lame legs and braces have taken more out of me than I thought.  It seems that any movie book or news report brings me to weep nowadays.

Am I going through the male change (I am 50 this year), Is it the new drug Cymbalta?, is it my physical or emotional condition?  I just don't know.

All I do know is I love you all here and wishing us a big group hug right now.

Bob....a huge hug to you! I think we all get to a point where it's all too much, and you've been through more than I can even imagine myself dealing with a fraction of it.

The cymbalta should help with your emotions...it's an antidepressant that helps to deal with physical and emotional trauma.

How long have you been on it and how much are you on?

Are you also on pred?

Hang tough...try not to think of all you can't do for Christmas...but what can you do to make the season meaningful but in a different way that you will be able to handle.

As far as news reports...way to negative most of the time. Try to limit your intake of that type of information for a while.

I am on Cymbalta 3x a day.  It does seem a coincidence that I have been more emotional since starting - but that is also when I got my braces.  I have to have a stiff upper lip for my wife, lest she think something is wrong.

Oh, Bob. As a longstanding sufferer with chronic depression, I can only imagine how difficult THAT is added on top of your physical maladies. Please do not wait too long to consult your GP or whoever prescribed it and let them know that you are feeling this way. Perhaps a dosage adjustment is warranted, or even a change in medication. I have no idea how long you've been on this one.

Depression can most often be very successfully treated. If Cymbalta doesn't work for you, please don't give up. Keep looking. Life is so much better when that cloud of despair and hopelessness is lifted from you! It's like being reborn, almost. You can find Bob again!

keep the chin up buddy. Sometimes the meds that you are on cause greater feelings of anxiety and depression too. You have a lot to deal with, its totally normal to have down days.Just know that we all admire you and the way you deal with your health problems.

Bob,

I upped my anti depressants yesterday following a discussion with my GP I knew it was time to discuss the matter with him and he agrees that I'm going through quite a bit at the moment so is totally on side, I feel I have a great GP and am able to communicate well with him, what I'm trying to say is I totally agree with Mitz talk to your doctor and tell him/her everything, I have started typing notes out and presenting them to the docs so I don't forget anything.

I think the advice of talking to your doctor and upping the dose or changing meds is good.

I've never been on anti-depressents so I can't help you there but you are going thru so much right now that it's no wonder your emotions are getting all crazy on you. It happens to the best of us! ((Big Hugs)) to you too!

Just wanted to say hi and give you a big hug, talk to your doc about whats going on. I'm on Lexapro 20mg and i love it. Good Luck :)
