I'll have my 6th infusion on 11/19.  Ever since I started Remi, I have had a rash on my chest and my shoulders.  It's sensitive to the sun, but now that fall and winter is here, it is still there, but not as bad.  I started after my 3rd infusion getting itchiness on my shins. It went away and then after the fifth, it went to my shoulders, getting  liitle pimples too.  I've tried something called "SARNA" lotion helps a bit, but hydrocortisone creme helps the best.  The itch is like under the skin when it acts up.....................anyone with similar symptoms????  Funny thing is when I get out of the shower it drives me crazy itching for @ 1/2 hr. When I go into the hot tub it never bothers me???  Someone that I know that has psoriasis told me that chlorine helps that.  Maybe the same for this.

I have told my dr. They documented it.

Yes I experience itching that I'm sure is due to the remicade.  I itch all over but do not have dry skin.  I sweet talk my daughter to itch my back with an old hair brush at night.  Ooh it feels so good.  I did mention it to my GI Dr. and he just nodded and wrote it in my file. When I get my remicade infusions they give me two benadryls beforehand.  They say that some people develop a rash or can have an allergic reation to it so the benadryl is supposed to help.  Have you tried taking benadryl?  It might help with the itching.  It makes me so tired on top of my already severe fatigue that I don't take it.  I just rely on my daughter and the hair brush for a little relief:)

I had a severely itchy neck a couple months ago, I had not attributed it to the Remicade because I've been on it over a year.
It went on for at least a month and if I think about it, probably was more severe after showers.
I used benedryl cream on it and that made it stop. I took to keeping a tube of it in my pocket and using it several times a day. Eventually it stopped happening.

Oh so once again..........I'm not alone!!! Thanks for your response. I haven't tried benedryl because it does make me tired too. Trying to find other means. I'll have to try the creme. The hydrocortisone creme does help, I have to use it everyday. Morning and night it seems. I also get zyrtec with my infusions. All in all i would rather put up with the itchiness than the UC symptoms!!!

been on remicade for almost two years........and yes i get the occational rash as well.  hydrocortisone creme works the best.
