fish oil question

I've been taking my fish oil for awhile now. Lately I've noticed that soon after I take it that I start cramping and getting some heartburn from it. I take it with plenty of water as well. I drink water all day long, never under a gallon. These caps have the enteric (sp) coating which has helped completely with the fish burps. I was wondering if maybe something else is going on or if anyone else has issues with fish oil settling well with their stomachs. I should note also that 2 of my 3 daily doses of fish oil is taken with my Prednisone as well. I sometimes take the fish oil with my multi and or Asacol as well. I take it with food too.
Any thoughts?

I was taking prednisone for 30 days and noticed alot of heartburn. I also take the Omega 3, gel capsules which would dissolve more quickly then the enteric coating. I had been taking the Omega 3 before I started on the prednisone and I hadn't had any heartburn. I chalked it up to the evil prednisone. I am now off the prednisone tabs and the heartburn has gone away. I do not experience any cramping at all. I also take 3 asacol 3x a day.

I can't take fish oil capsules (maybe I was taking the wrong ones, I dunno) but of course I got the fishy burps but it upset my stomach too. Made it feel sour like and it affected my Uc a bit too. But, I agree that maybe it could be the pred that is causing you troubles with this. Are you getting any benefits from the fish oil?

I'm not sure about the benefits really. I've just always heard the fats are really healthy for people especially if you don't eat fish which I don't. I also thought it would be good for my joints and inflammation as well. Who knows.............
I've also been playing around with different multi's as well. Perhaps that could be it too. I'm tempted to stop everything accept for my scripts and see what happens.
