For the men (well, and their ladies too)

My husbands friend takes Cialis, not for ED but to help with his Menieres. He doesn't have any gut issues but he did mention once that Cialis tears his gut up but he didn't expand on his comment. So I'm thinking that if it affects a healthy man then it might be worse for one with an IBD.

I went onto a Cialis website and it said that in clinical trials that some side effects were noted but weren't clear if it was related to Cialis or not. But here are some of the side effects that pertain to the GI tract:

Digestive: abnormal liver function tests, diarrhea, dry mouth, dysphagia, esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux, gastritis, GGTP increased, loose stools, nausea, upper abdominal pain, vomiting

I hope they're not saying to take viagra daily for CD or anything.  Don't think I'd enjoy walking around for hours each day with...well you know...

Hi, I am sorry to barge in here, but...

Your statement about blood flow mechanics of IBDers has me quite curious--my husband has a very large varicocele for 20+ years that really doesn't usually cause problems and has not affected fertility (that's the most common problem); when a myriad of troubles began for him 8 months ago, we thought that it was the varicocele because he kept insisting to his docs that the varicocele was enlarged/not feeling right/rigid.  Four urologists insisted right back that it could not possibly be the varicocele causing him the excruciating pain radiating throughout his groin/hips/pelvis/leg....

He has just tentatively  been DX'd with Crohn's, awaing biopsy and upper GI test results; I know I am on the UC forum, but this caught my eye anyway.

I have learned that folks with an IBD can experience extraintestinal symptoms like joint pain, skin problems, etc. so I am wondering if IBD could also have aggrevated his varicocele???
