Morning pain and random cramping

So for the most part I consider myself in remission because I have no Uc symptoms - no bleeding, no D, no urgency etc.  However in the mornings when I have to go, I still have pain when I feel like I'm getting ready to head to the bathroom.  Like I can feel it's moving in there and it's rubbing against something. I'm only going once in the morning and that's it. Plus I have random cramping thru out the day but nothing else happens.  Oh and not to mention, I've been getting this weird sharp pain on my lower right side.  I'm thinking that maybe it's ovulation but I don't remember it being that painful before.  Does anyone else ever have this type of pain with no other Uc symptoms?

I occasionally get that lower right side pain. I had an ultrasound done of my ovaries and everything was a-ok. It could just be ovulation. As for the morning cramping....maybe that is what normal people go through and we have just forgotten?! Have you ever tried anything for the cramping? I used hyoscamine for awhile and it seemed to help.

No, I've never tried anything for the cramping because it's pretty short lived. Once I go (which also hurts sometimes) then I'm good for rest of the day but maybe with occasional short sharp cramps that lasts maybe like 10 seconds. You'd figure that if everything else is going good then why do I still feel the pain?

spasming, gas or inflammation...unless it's not related to UC. My right-side pain is usually gas. Lower left can be spasming from stress or gas from what I ate.
If I'm flaring, the spasming or gas is pronounced and more continual and rectal pain is there before/during and after bms..

I do agree that trying an antispasmodic will help.
I'm a proponent of Bentyl..but my niece tried hyocystine and had great results (from her severe IBS)..worked amazingly.

Red.. Honestly,

If you are close to remission.. You may be well served to take a break from this place so you don't focus so closely on yourself.. I find that when I spend too much time here I over analyze myself and make alot of uneeded hasty diagnosis.. If you feel good, Enjoy that time.. Get it off your mind.. Thats what we all are striving for.. :)

Well, I'm hoping that Sherry won't go away -- she's a terrific moderator. I believe that you were probably trying to be helpful Harpo, but I think this forum is for support and that's what Sherry is asking for.

I also consider myself to be in remission - no bleeding, no urgency, but I also have mild cramping before going to the bathroom. I don't know why, but it never lets me forget that I have UC. I wish that last bit of cramping would just go away. 
Lower right pain could be an ovarian cyst. I get lower right pain which has actually been a little worse the last couple of days. It's caused by an ovarian cyst and hurts for a few days every once in a while then stops hurting.

Thanks for the replies. I do have ovarian cysts but they're on my left side not my right. Unless maybe I got one on that side now! Who knows anymore! :)

Harpo, I like coming on here. I don't focus on my Uc anymore then I did before. I have my priorities straight and trust me. I do get out and enjoy myself - sometimes too much! And thats when my Uc comes back and says whoa lady, slow down or else I'm gonna make you sorry! :) It makes me feel good knowing that my past experiences and knowledge can help others. I live to help lol.

I get that cramping too in the AM. After my bathroom trip, I usually never feel it again. Although lately I have been having some pain WAY DOWN in the abdomen. I would think that they're like menstral cramps, but it's not that time either... I'm one of those who attributes everything strange, different, and weird to my UC - and have been told by my doc that it's not all UC and to quit doing that. (I do have an appt for a full physical to get that cramping checked out.)

The lower right side pain... Could it be attributed to the hip pains you've been having? I'll get some pains down in there if I haven't stretched my hips properly - or my abs haven't been stretched well either.

I'm switching from super glue to that new "Gorilla Glue"! Wow that stuff holds things together...

i am in remission now too (woohoo!!!) and i still get cramping when i have to go. its like my colon is saying "whoa, what is that big thing, havent seen those in over a year"... i think our colons are just not used to proper poo's. and it is still tender in there.
once i go, the cramping is over for the day, unless i have gas of course.
and i do get right side pain sometimes and i have no idea what it is.
could be ovaries? dont know for sure...
just so used to pain, that i just wave it off as more of what i've been going thru for a year.
maybe i should get it checked?

Thanks everyone. Y'all have to remember that even though I've had this DD for a long time, I have only actually enjoyed THREE decent remissions (never over a year though) so this whole remission thing is sort of new to me! :) But Steph, you seem to hit right on the head! I honestly don't think my colon knows how to handle a normal bm anymore! But yes, if you are still having trouble with your right side then you should have it checked.
