I have been feeling unwell the past few days - chest tightness, chest pain, strange heavy feeling in my chest, etc.

Went to the doctor but was told it's just gas.

Today I do not feel bloated nor do I have any 'gas' but i get shooting paints in my chest.

I'm sick of seeing the doctor because he would just look at me and tell me I'm ok - all because in his records, I have already done all the heart tests that showed nothing wrong (those were done earlier this year).

I am just so frustrated right now and I don't know what to do.

hi Pinks sorry you're not feeling well but don't give up hope in looking for another doctor or the right doctor . There is an article on cbc.ca under health which asks the question ,Have you been misdiagnosed ? ,tell your story . It will certainly help make you feel better and really gives some good insight in how the public feels about most doctors there was one who spent many years in medical school oly to drop out each time who explains how they are taught now and what the seems to be the problems in training new doctors.

Don't give up keep advocating for yourself its your health not theirs and as I always say it doesn't matter how many tests or doctors you go through if you are not feeling well then obviously you're not ...everyday I've felt as though I was going to have to go to ER for over a month now at night I fight sleep because I don't actually feel like I'm falling asleep it feels like I'm losing consciousness ...I don't go to ER because they make me stay , tomorrow finally I will be on a 3 hour trip for a 2 day cardiac perfusion study to hopefully resolve this feeling of a fish flopping around in my chest everyday and always sore .

Pinks, I'm sorry to hear of your troubles.

Is there any way that you can get a second opinion from another doctor?  Is your doctor a cardiologist or a PCP?  It sounds to me as if the doctor doesn't know what's wrong so he's making it look like nothing's wrong.  But, there are many heart conditions that are difficult to diagnose (I know from experience!) and that require a lot more testing.  Also, it may be that your condition has worsened from earlier this year and some tests might be able to pick this up. 

Hang in there, keep on trying.  I know it's difficult when you already feel so sick.  But, when you feel flustered and as if you can't go on, come lean on us for support.  We'll help you get through the rough patches.

I hate doctors who don't take their patients' symptoms seriously.

Thanks for your replies.

I went to 2 doctors, the cardiologist I saw in Feb this year and also my family doctor.
My family doctor said it's just gas.
The cardiologist said nothing's wrong but to have an angiogram if I want to be sure.

That's it.

2 nights ago, my husband rushed me to the ER because I was having acute chest pain on the center and left(below left breast) of my chest, and shooting pain on my back.

After a chest x-ray and ecg, I was told it is probably just chest wall pain. The doc prescribed painkillers and muscle relaxant.

Till today, the pain still persists and I have tightness in the center and left of my chest, which bothers me. My lower jaw is beginning to hurt too.

I don't know what ELSE to do, because I have been to countless clinics, ERs, etc. and ALL the doctors couldn't find anything wrong with me.

Medicines which I have been prescribed for my chest pain symptoms since last year (but never worked):
- antacids, omeprazole, etc. for suspected gastric/stomach problems
- asthma inhalers for suspected asthma
- anti-anxiety meds like xanax, for suspected anxiety disorder

I am still frustrated.
