I like to think when you first try doing something very discerting eventually you grow to relax with it until it becomes 2nd nature .Its normal to feel uneasy because you are going through a life changing event so why wouldn't you feel uneasy .
I keep my BP down with heart medications (Metoprolol) one day I hope to get away from those meds and I admitt I have quite a few I have to take daily its alot of work but the proper diet and exercise is my only option .
My BP climbed from 135/85 to 140/90 and then to 150/100 then came a sudden heart attack this change in BP was very gradual infact it took roughly 6 or 7 years to come to a point of no return .
Try checking it later or go to the doctor and have them check it .I resently had a gastroscopy without a calming drug because I thought 24 hours of dopeyness over a 10 minute procedure just seemed crazy and my BP showed 189/110 during the procedure and I felt relaxed but obviously I wasn't .I really had to concentrate on not panicking but I pulled it off and 5 minutes after, my pulse was back down to a calm 117/76 .
You do know if your bp stays high (depending on how high ) it may be a good idea to just stop into the ER to make sure everything is okay .
be well and stay well
