Heart Palpitations

I have recently been having what seem to be heat palpitations during the night. I had one initially and didn't think too much about it but now I seem to have them every night and more than once. I wake up and my heart seems be beating at odd intervals, fast intervals. It quickly calms down and reverts back to normal. I am physically fit, enjoy running and go to the gym 2 - 3 time a week. Should I get this checked out?

Caffeine usually give me those palpitations. I drink 6 cups within 8 hours. And it's aggravated when I drink coffee and puff cigarette at the same time. If you do this, better cut some until you finally get over the palpitation.

I read another post and seems like sugar is a big trigger also. I went to the doctor and she put me on an IV for dehydration, that seemed to clear up the palpitations pretty quickly. She told me to drink lots of water, which probably clears out some of the caffeine and the sugar. Anyone ever heard of or have had the Radio Frequency treatment where they stop the irregular heartbeats internally? Anyone try magnesium supplements or have palpitations after eating sauces or hot peppers? Had this checked by a few specialists, they all say it is normal, but there do seem to be some treatments out there.

I AGREE, ONLY YOUR DOCTOR CAN TELL YOU IF IT'S SERIOUS OR NOT, MOST OF THE TIME IN THE ABSENCE OF HEART DISEASE AN ARRHYTHMIA CAN BE HARMLESS, BUT YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE A  CARDIOVASCULAR EVALUATION WITH A 24-HOUR HOLTER MONITOR AND PERHAPS AN ECHOCARDIOGRAM.
