For three years I have been experiencing chest pains, they often feel like electricty or just like pressing on the chest. As my general health has deteriorated so has this problem. Last Friday it reached it's worst. I was in a cafe at the supermarket and suddenly started getting these pains in my chest, in combination with this there was a strong 'swooping' sensation that felt like a shot of adrenaline though the heart. It began to build, and build, and build. The heart went out of rhymn Someone called the paramedics and I got taken into hospital. They did an EGC, which showed up as fine. Although notably the chest pains/rate of the heart had calmed down by the time they took the ECG. They examined me and I got sent home.
However, since then I have been in hospital twice again with the pains, and was advised by NHS direct to go stright back to hospital so I did. I have had an x-ray on my chest, urine test, and an ultra-sound (through a charity organization, not the hospital!) What is notable is that when I stand up it becomes even worse, suddenly I struggle to breathe, the pain becomes more intense and the 'swooping'/shot feeling becomes more regular. When this has been set off, it can also be affected by minor sounds, or fear/excitement. When I stand up I also become very dizzy, and get a sensation like I am 'rocking' on a boat. I feel sick and cannot eat much.
Does anyone know what this could possibly be? I'm so scared, as when it happens I honestly feel like I'm having a heart attack. At the moment I can hardly move from sofa to bed, as I said, standing up and moving makes it worse.
I am sixteen years old. No history of heart disease and/or cardiac problems in the family.
Suggestions appreciated.
