Hi I'm new here and will get PFO closed June 11th and just need to know what to expect and recovery time??

Hi vnjteach and welcome to the forum!

Sorry we did not get back to you before your scheduled surgery today. I hope all went well. Please check out the "PFO Closure - open Heart of Transcatherer 3" thread for lots of info. on what to expect during the recovery phase. You will have lots of time to read and hopefully you will be feeling up to it!

I had a PFO closed on June 5 and I feel exactly the same as I did before, except that my groin area is super tight. I'm not sure if this is a muscle, a tendon, or the scarring on the femoral so I'm afraid of tearing it open. Has anyone experienced this? Also, I have a wedding this weekend and would like to enjoy a glass of wine or champagne but am not sure if this is safe. Does anyone have any info on whether or not alcohol intake at this point is safe? I'm on plavix and i've been told one drink will not affect me regarding that so that's not my concern.
