What's Next? Do I get Another Cath?

A stent is not a permanent cure for a blockade of the coronary arteries, the condition (arteriosclerosis) that caused the heart attack will remain the same and the possibility of developing another blockade (heart attack) cannot be ignored. I believe your doctor will want to know from time to time in what condition your coronaries are and he might want you to have another cath., because he might not want to wait until you develop symptoms of myocardial ischemia. I know that having a cardiac cath is not fun but so far, it's the most accurate way to examine the coronaries.

I spoke to the Drs PA and she said I get a thallium stress test once a year and this will determine the need for a cath.....unless I have symptoms.
