SVT Ablation After Effects

I had ablation for SVT a week ago.  I just wondered how many of you had episodes after the ablation and if they were different from the original episodes.  I had one little one today and am wondering if that is normal.  It stopped itself which was a good difference.

That is amazing.  60 times?  I can't imagine what your symptoms were before the ablation.  I don't know how many my doctor did.  I see him in a month and I was too drugged to hear much of the doctor's description of what he did.  I was fainting before the ablation.  I am fine now.  I have had 2 small episodes but nothing more. 

I was not awake for any of it and that was fine with me.  I didn't want to keep having that awful feeling while they searched for the extra nerve.  I still can't imagine 60 times.  I am doing fine in that I am not having really high pulses or fainting.  The only weird thing is that I feel like my heart is starting to rev up and then it stops.  I am female and 63.

Just wondering if you have WPW syndrome and if that is why you had the ablation? I am trying to get in touch with others with WPW!

Hi, i had an ablation just over a year ago and in the 3months following the procedure i still had palpitations, which i still get now, also b4 my fast heartbeat used to start i would get a few missed beats then the fast heartbeat, i found i would get the missed beats and would feel as tho it would go into the fast rythm but didnt, altho it is very common that not all the pathway was ablated and some may remain, sometimes it takes a few times to get the pathway completely ablated especially if it is in a hard to reach place. Have patience, hopefully they are just false alarms where the heart is used to going down that pathway, now it is not there it may just be confused. x

Hi, I have had WPW for approximately 4-5 years. I too am thinking about have the ablation. I had an 7 hour episode but it was "muted" because of the atenolol 50mg that I'm currently on so I didn't go to the hospital. Normally, an episode would last for about 20 minutes in the past. I don't know what to expect with the ablation but I heard the tachycardia can still happen.

I sometimes feel I have missed beats and feel breathless or faint. I fear getting the ablation, but I also fear getting these symptoms.

Staza - how many after-blips do you feel per-day since your ablation? Your explanation of how they feel is very similar to mine. I got my ablation early Feb of last year and currently I am getting these "miss-fires" a lot in one day. Sometimes I won't feel anything for almost a week - but when they start - its like 100+ a day. Easily. Sometimes they are very disruptive, like when sucking in when shockes, it leaps me to attention and can easily distract me away from everyday activities. It's not SVT, I don't get my rapid heart beat, its like that beginning-instant feeling like your about - like it hits that circuit, then cannot make its round so there is a slight pause and then I go back into a normal heart rate. But not all the time do I regain a normal beat, sometimes I miss fire anywhere from 2-15 times in a row. I'm wondering if it has started to make a new pathway despite my first attempts to stop it...any kind of relation to this would be greatly appreciated!
