Hi, I am back from my appt. at Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion. The Cardiologist that I saw seemed very good, and informative. He reviewed my previous ct scans, and echo that I brought with me, but suggested having tests done there in the future, they have more high tech equipment for better diagnosing. That is fine with me. Also, the size of my aneurysm may not be as big if they can do more accurate measurements. He didnt tell me that it may also be bigger than 4.5. I dont want to think about
that. The place is huge, but you couldnt ask for more kind, compassionate people to take care of you. I had a very positive experience for my first time there, and I hope it continues to be that way. I go back in the spring for more tests. Margie

Glad it went well for you. I had my first appointment there (in a different department) a few months ago and was also impressed. If only everybody could get that kind of professionalism and knowledge for their health care!

Yes, I agree, wouldnt it be great if all hospitals at least tried harder to give better care. Even my husband was impressed! Margie

I have another member in a different forum that is considering CC. Can either of you explain why you felt it was better then other hospital/clinics you have had the occasion to visit?
Thanks so much,
Kitt

The experience that I had at Cleveland Clinic was probably the best experience I have ever had with a new hospital and a new Dr. Even the atmosphere in the lobby was welcoming, and every employee that you saw had a smile, and asked if they could help in any way. ( I am not exaggerating!). I was very nervous, and they made you feel calm, that they would do all they could to help you. Everything went smoothly, on time, and I would definitely recommend Cleveland Clinic to anyone. I hope that this helps. Margie

I agree with Margie - everything was on time, the staff was incredibly professional, and the doctor spent a great deal of time with me and then managed to fit me in with a second specialist that same day. He took the time to answer all my questions. The entire staff seems to understand that most every patient is new, and so they don't assume that you know their "routine" the way you get from a lot of small doctor's offices. The communication is excellent, and the lab services are efficient and top-notch.
My only complaint is that the particular doctor I saw never contacted me with the test results he promised, and I discovered last week that he didn't notify my PCP either. I have a form to mail to CC to get copies of those results sent, though.

I dont know if my primary dr. will receive any report of my visit to Cleveland Clinic, I will find out in Nov. when I go for my appt. It was never mentioned to me about
sending a report, but I would imagine they would. I hope this information helps someone in their decision making for going to Cleveland Clinic. Margie
