Hoping you're having a wonderful day!

 

I started off my day by overdoing yesterday and sleeping past my med. time this morning, so woke up with angina and had to take a nitro and jump up and take my med.s and put my nitro patch on!  It's finally paid off and working now, so guess I'll go check on my birds today! yeah

Hi everyone, just returned from my grandma's funeral. It was nice to catch up with family we don't see otherwise. We decided we need to get together other than funerals with that side of the family. Most of us live with in 10 miles of each other so there is no excuse. As we all know here life is to short. We had a nice time talking about our memories of grandma and grandpa's house with our cousin and aunts. My sister and aunt got up and talked about my grandma and how never had a bad word to say about anyone and I had never thought about that but it was true. My aunt also talked about her profound love for grandpa. What neat things to be remembered for. I would like to aspire to be more like my grandma. Well think it is time for a nap. I'm pretty wore out. Barb

Barb, again, I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your Grandma, but she sounds like someone much loved on this earth and that she will be missed by many.  What a wonderful legacy she left behind.

Thanks Teri, it helps to know she is finally free of pain and with my grandpa now and her son. When my dad passed it was very hard on her and thats when she started having signs of the alzheimers. I hope you have as many good memories of your dad as I do about my grandma. It helps to think about that stuff when you miss them. Talk to you later. Have a great day. Barb

Happy Easter to all of those who celebrate. I hope if any of you are traveling today that you have a safe drive. My family is traveling about an hour and a half east to my sister's for Easter dinner. We went to Mass last night, which was absolutely beautiful. The choir put so much into the entire thing and we all participated. But wow, was that a long evening, lol. We got out 2 hours later! Yikes! But as I said, it was so beautiful and inspiring.

For those who are hoping the Easter bunny is stopping, he missed our house. No kiddoroonies here. I took all the candy to the grandchildren's homes. Okay, I lied. I bought an Easter egg (cadbury caramel) for my 29 y o son and one for myself. I coutned it in my daily food plan. I can only say I am glad I just bought one! nono

And I bet the Easter bunny brought them to you like he did for me! :-) hehehehe. I had dinner at my niece's today and did very well. I stuck to the veggies and lean meats while the kids were eating every sugary thing that was available and around them! It gave me a sugar high just watching them, lol.

Yes, indeed, Kathlyn, that Easter Bunny was a busy little

bunny!!  yeah

 

I decided since I haven't been cooking all that much, that I'd cook Italian which my whole family loves and me, too!!  tongue So I made a Chicken Pizzaiola, using baked chicken breasts with low fat mozzeralla cheese and Penne noodles with spaghetti sauce~Yummy! 

 

And everyone else cleaned up-now that's what I call a great dinner!

Sounds like you both didn't do too bad. We still did baskets at my house even though my youngest is 18. She would have had a fit if we wouldn't have. I filled her basket, a small one with chocolate candy, I snitched one. I made her take it down stairs so I wouldn't do anymore of that. I put scrapbooking supplies in my basket and my hubbys. I gave him a few candies too though. I had to mail my granddaughters basket to NC. I sent her mommy a few things too. My son got his box in Iraq last week. Glad it made it on time. We had all my sisters over for easter. The 3 older kids had a egg hunt outside. The 2 one year olds were so cute. We did their egg hunt inside. They caught on so fast. It was just adorable. My hubby got them on tape and I got pictures. Those will be fun to scrapbook. Have a great day. Barb

Hi Everyone!

 

Barb, I'm glad your son in Iraq got his pkg. from you in time~I know that's so important to them!!  Please let him know that he's got plenty of people over here in the U.S. that thank him for being over there and doing whatever job he has!!  Sounds like you had a great family day yesterday! tongue

 

I went in for a follow up visit today for the heart cath. and breathing problem and have now been referred to a pulmonologist.  Just can't tell if it's the asthma or the COPD getting worse.  I'll let you all know...

 

I hope everyone had a great day today!!  I'm home and relaxing tomorrow so hope to see more of ya'll then!!

I'm glad to hear from you Heidi Liane!!  It tickles me to think I have a Rhode Island Red named after me! lol yeah Please let us know how your blood work turns out?!  Hope they let you know!

 

Speaking of fuzzy, feathered birds...I have a mated pair of Cockatiels and I've been known to pester everyone and talk about them 'at times' lol.  Petey & Pookie!  They had 3 eggs in their nest and this morning (right on cue) I found one feathered little guy stumbling around~so egg #1 has hatched~WooHoo!! tongue Now we'll see if #2 and #3 are lucky enough to come pecking their way out!  At about 2-3 weeks, I pull them out of their nest and feed them by hand with a syringe, that helps to make them better pets and it's so much fun~I just love the little guys!!

I brought home and I'm feeding 4 baby cockatiels from the Pet Shop where I work-three meals a day til Monday!  They sure are cute. yeah
