Miss Teri--  I think the snow is almost gone I was so happy to have my power back on Weds I think it wouldn't be so bad if we could flush a toliet! 

Alot of the left sided numbness seems much better but I think the traction has left me with more pain  I did not do any traction this week --I talked with my ortho I think I told you that and I talked with the doc that was supervising the traction and he told me to stay away for a little while to see what happens and to do the exercises for my neck and put ice (YUK) on it I much prefer heat-

I am just finding that it really hurts after being on the computer all day at work and the Vicodin doen't help too much but I WILL LIVE--

Did I tell you I saw my pcp and I don't have to go back for 3 months WOW-- I even told him about the cp I have been having --I also noticed since I stopped the second dose of Topral XL my HR is up almost racing--work has been so bad I have been taking my Xanex again and I haven't taken that in many months!-

How are you doing?  How is the bird training coming?

I am gonna talk at ya later my neck is really hurting-

I'm sorry the traction is not helping...I really hope these other treatments help you!!  I remember the 2 of us wondering for months about that left sided numbness and I'm so happy that they just found the cause!  That was not an easy procedure, to say the least!

I'm almost afraid to ask?~why won't the toilets flush?? confused (Frozen?)

 

Well, Star, I'm thinking I may just have to cut back a day or two working with the birds...I've been so fatigued lately and figure as the Dr. told the other day, that it's about me now and that I may be overdoing things.  So I'll take that extra day or two off and see how I feel then.  I love working with them so very much that I hate to miss even one day, but it does seem to be wearing on me.

Hi Teri, yes I've been useing the albuteral inhaler. It helps some but not as much as usual. After last night I am calling the doc on Monday to push for having that stress test moved up. I was at a scrapbooking workshop and started to have some aching in arm, shoulder and then neck and jaw. It wasn't really bad or anything. Oh my chest hurt too right in the middle but I have been having pain there when swallowing certain foods so thought it was that. It got to where I just felt kind of shakey and weak too. By the time I got home it was worse so I took a nitro and called in to work. I got an instant headache. A really bad pounding one. I don't many headaches and never one that fast so it scared me and I called nurse direct. She told me I had to take 2 more before I could go to the ER. I took another then even though I really really didn't want to after what the first one did and my head was still throbbing. The second one made the veins in my face throb and I could feel them in my stomach too. It was so awful. The chest and other pains did seem to be getting better so I just left it at that and didn't take another. I was so wiped out that I went to bed after that. I woke up at 5am and didn't feel good again. I took my inhaler and put heat on my shoulder and went back to sleep. What happens if you don't take a nitro pill and you should? Also what happens if you take one when it isn't really your heart, because I sure can't seem to tell what pain is from what. When I went to scrap booking today they were having $5 dollar massages so I had her do my neck and shoulders and I do seem to feel better tonight. I almost skipped my walk today because of all that but decided I would just walk slower. It went pretty good. I've lost 4 pounds this week with all the walking and other exercise combined with lots of fruit and veggies. I'm wondering too if some of the pain is from all the crunches I did because my ribs are extremely sore and my stomach muscles. Oh it's all so confusing. Confused in Wisconsin (a.k.a. Barb)

Good Sunday Morning!

 

We have a sort of cloudy, drizzly day here today, so my husband took advantage of that and put down lawn fertilizer. :)

 

I went for a short amount of Mall shopping with my daughter yesterday and had to bail out on my birds afterwards, as I was just too tired.  So I was in bed by 8 PM last night and slept til 8:30 AM this morning!  Maybe it's that cloudy, drizzly day?! yeah

 

I plan on basically doing nada today! tongue How about you?!

PS Barb, I'll address the Nitro questions in the new thread "Nitro".  Hope this helps you and others with any questions!  Also, I noted this morning on the Allergy Forum here at Healing Well that anyone who has a known allergy to Peanuts be very careful of Lupin flour, as that may also cause the same reaction...I mention it here only because I know so many out there have Peanut allergies...

Hi Teri, I'm working on my scrapbook room today to get it all set up so we can work on our books nightly. My hubby and I both love it and it's very relaxing. I just got the TV from our bedroom put in there so we can watch our favorite shows at night instead of sitting in our chairs. I have 2 5 foot tables set up in there and some shelves. We want to get my daughters book done for her graduation present so we are really going to have to work on that one. Well back to work for me. Hi Barb!

Many years ago when my parent's celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary I made a scrapbook for them that turned out pretty okay. :) Then for my son's graduation, I made him a scrapbook in 1992 and again for my folks on their 50th anniversary. All before scrapbooking was popular and they had really nothing much in the stores to aid you. So for my daughter's graduation next year, I plan on going all out, so any and all hints you can guide my way-just email me anytime!! I'd appreciate the help. Hugs, Teri :)

Silly girl the toliets wouldn't flush because we had no water without electricity (my well pump would not work!)Not frozen-- It was a beautiful day yesterday and Sat would never hae known we were buried in waist high snow a week earlier--how soon we forget!

 

You must take care of yourself Teri-PLEASE do not over do-just think the birds will be happier to see you --after all doesn't absence make the heart grow fonder? HEHE

 

Well must go to work now--YUK I will probably end up losing my job ir quit over all this crummy stress here I am not sure which will happen first --all I know I can't handle much more it really needs to change-I need to find a NEW job! I know I can look in my spare time!

Hi Teri, I called my cardio today and they moved the stress test up from the 17th of May to the 19th of April. I feel better about that with the recent problems I'm having. I also made an appointment with a new doc in my new health network because of the pain in chest when swallowing. She is actually a physicians assistant but is very good at what she does. I was impressed with the way she took care of my hubby last year. She'll have to send me to a gastroenterologist for a scope though. I haven't had one done in 4 years so guess it is time. I go to that appointment tomorrow. I don't have your e-mail address, but if you give it to me I'll be glad to give you tips and answer any questions about scrapbooking. I've been doing it for 3 years now and am really addicted to it. I have about 10 different books in the works right now. So I have plenty to do. Well time to go for my daily walk with hubby and dog. It's Tuesday and all is well...

 

I was put on my allergy medication a while back and I think that has been part of the culprit making me more tired than usual.  I stopped taking it 2 days ago and I do seem to have a bit more energy back~I'll have to play this by trial and error!

 

So what is everyone doing today?! tongue

BC, sorry to hear that you're having chest pain and SOB!!  It may still be from the small vessel disease?  Do your cardio's know that you are having this already??  I really am sorry to hear this, I know you've been through so very much.

 

Barb, did you try and email me yet??  I'm waiting for those good tips! yeah

 

Star, we'll have to get together and do some one liners, like "Just how tired are you?!" lol  We can compare notes.  I hope you start feeling better soon~please take care!

Hey Star, scrapbooking is so much fun you would love it. tongue You don't have to be really crafty with all the stuff they have out there these days. I have found out that Creative Memories is the best stuff to use and has a life time warrantee on everything so that is what I use mostly now days. I started out with a fiskars cutting system and ended up wrecking some of my pictures. As far as I'm concerned all that system is good for is as stencils. I mostly use my creative memories system. My husband and I love it. Well speaking of scraping I need to go work on my daughters book before I go to my night job. Talk to you later.

Hey BC hope your feeling better. How come you never told me anything about your days as a Marine. I really like hearing about that kind of stuff. My son was asking me too about you, because I told him I talk to a Marine on the heart forum. My son and I like to talk to the guys that come to the senior center that were Marines. They are always asking me about Josh too and how he is doing. Any one that is a Marine has to be an extraordinary person to make it in the Marine Corps. yeah Hope I didn't miss it in another thread. eyes ake Care. Barb

I just got in from the Cardiac Dr.'s appt. I had earlier this morning and all went fairly uneventful! Yea! tongue   He increased my nitro patch to .4 mg. per day and that should do the trick with the angina being brought on by the small vessel disease.

 

He also mentioned that they're talking of closing down some of the Heart Hospitals across the country!-to which I belong.  So if any one goes to one, this is something you should be interested in.  I plan on making a few calls today to tell them No! yeah

 

Barb, my little fluffy yellow baby cockatiel is doing great!  He was a bit timid yesterday, eating with a syringe instead of Mom and Dad regurgitating.  Today, though, is another story...he's had that little beak open and chirping for more! lol

Hi Teri, still no problems yet today with pain and breathing. Haven't been down the stairs yet though either. I may get out of the stairs at work but will have to go down at home to take my daughters dog out before leaving for our friends house for the evening. No cooking for me tonight. That will be a nice break even though I do love to cook. I'll have to start a thread on heart healthy recipies. I've been getting some wonderful ones off the computer. I have a little great niece that opens her mouth like a bird for food. She is so cute. I love babies of any kind. They are so cuddly and cute. We are supposed to reach 70 up here in Wisconsin this weekend. It's 60 something today and feels pretty nice. I may attempt a walk after work. Probably just a short one depending on how I feel. Hi Teri

I will be glad to help Barb with the Healthy Heart recipies for I am keeping doewn my Cholesterol by diet alone and no meds for my cholesterol I'llget my 6 month reading on the 25th. But Yes I also love to cook hearthealthy recipies so Teri if it ok we can start that thread again and I know give credit to where credit is due. like my soy based Chili, my spaghetti squash woith dieced tomatoed and beef and alot more and list  the sugar, sodium fat etc on it too but it sounds great to me teri :-)

Your little yellow cocktail sounds so cute  and opening his mouth for you to help feed him like are you my mommy.
