A few months ago I suffered a heart attack which fortunately was only minor. However, I'm now 70 and, having been diagnosed with heart disease, conscious that my health is not necessarily going to get a lot better. I live alone with friends and family nearby, but would like to stay living at home for the foreseeable future. I've been chatting about
the possible benefits of telehealth with other elderly friends as I would like to monitor my health myself at home - can anyone enlighten me further about
how I would go about
getting telehealth and where I can go to for advice?

I wasn't aware this kind of service was available. Perhaps you can start at these two websites for more information. http://www.cardiocom.com/contactus.asp?gclid=CJzkuu7mk64CFQFY7Aodw2knNQ OR http://www.americanwell.com/
It sounds like a great idea to me. Good luck.

Hello and welcome to HealingWell. This is new to me also. I have heard of the panic buttons that many seniors living alone wear but this is something new. I will be reading up on this.
Sound like a good idea and thanks

Thank you for your advice. I've found quite a bit out about
telehealthcare since then - the Tunstall website proved to be pretty helpful. Saying that, I've just read an interesting story about
a man in Liverpool who was using telehealthcare. It's a bit worrying as he was sent two phone bills, thought one was a duplicate, so ended up not paying one of his bills. As a result, his phone operator Virgin cut off his phone line, which meant that his health monitoring at home was also cut off. I'm wondering if this is a problem or a worry for other telehealthcare users?
