Hi Sober for good, (SFG-do you mind this abbreviation?-be honest!)
I suffered from enough anxiety after my first stent placement to cause me to go into Panic Attacks!~absolutely no fun at all!! I do understand from where you are coming. With that said, though, I will tell you, I stopped smoking several years ago, to improve my health. I don't drink-used to enjoy partying many moons ago. I don't even drink anything with caffeine as it causes my heart to get out of sync. I love water!! I used to love fast food, now I stop at those places for fruit bowls! lol
My Total Cholesterol a few years before my Heart Attack was about 250. When I had my Heart Attack it was 278. I was told that my HDL was way too low and that is a familial thing. Both of my folks had this same gene and it causes a low HDL. My HDL now is 72. That, btw, is your Good Cholesterol.
Your cholesterol tests show someone with great numbers!! WooHoo! So about the only thing that I would stress is continue doing what you are doing now and keep up the exercise! Your weight loss has played a big part in all this as well.
Try eating more nuts, almonds and walnuts and peanuts, (providing you're not allergic to them), they are very good for you.
Use Olive Oil for cooking and dressings on salads
Avocados are another healthy fat choice.
Using and eating the above, will actually help increase the good fat HDL, and lower the bad stuff, the LDL!!
Hugs, Teri
