Question about ECG

Hello everyone,

I had a Nissen Fundoplication surgery performed on me twenty-nine days ago and my preop ECG performed before my surgery has me wondering about a few things. It alerted the nurse who read it and she showed the read out to a doctor who said I was fit for surgery. The surgery went well and my reflux is gone which is wonderful. The problem I am having is that other symptoms I experienced before the surgery have not gone away or even subsided and I'm curious as to whether or not this ECG might provide a link to whatever it is that is making me feel so badly. I'm going to list my symptoms and then do my best to write down what this ECG and report reads. I have it right here in front of me so I can show doctors notes and all that jazz.

Symptoms: dizziness, pain in thr crevace where my collar bones meet in center of chest, foggy vision, headache that won't go away even with Demerol, migraines every couple of days, heart pounding, weakness in left arm and leg, numbness in last two fingers on left hand and left two toes on left foot, trouble taking in deep breath, slight cough, constant sweating, peripheral vision in right eye all but gone, constant feeling like I'm falling off something, very tired, occasional feelings like my hands and teeth feel really large, waves moving across left side of scalp, plus other things I'm surely forgetting.

I'm a healthy male age 32. I weigh 165lbs @ 5' 10" and am normally very active. My diet is superb. I haven't been to a fast food joint in years. No alcohol consumption. Non smoker. Until these weird symptoms formed and a hiatal hernia was found I was very healthy with no problems. I hadn't even been to a doctor in over six years.

Here is what the ECG reads:

Acute MI

Sinus rhythm....normal P axis, V-rate 50-99
LVH by voltage....R>2.60mv in V5 or V6
Probable inferior infarct, old....Q>35ms, II III aVF
Lateral infarct, acute (LAD)....ST>.10mv, V5 V6 I aVL
Anterior ST elevation, probably due to LVH....ST>0.20mv in V1-V4 & LVH

Doctors notes: Left ventricular hypertrophy. High take off of the ST segment is noted. Possible inferior scar.

Any help with this would be wonderful since at this point I barely have enough energy to get off my couch and check my mailbox.

I went to a Cardiologist today and found out some interesting things. I have thickening of a ventricle due to high blood pressure. It read 178/92. Wow! So much for eating well and exercizing. I have also had a previous heart attack and didn't even realize it happened. I was given a nitro patch which helped immensely and so did the anti nausea meds. I'm going to start taking Toprol tomorrow and hopefully get rid of this pounding heart and chest pains I have. Not to mention the headache.

I wanted to mention that the Dr. I see is wonderful. I have access to the huge medical center in downtown Hostoun so I am lucky enough to be able to choose from some of the best Drs. In the world. If anyone might be interested my Cardiologists name is Dr. Kashani and he is affiliated with a few hospitals so he takes a wide variety of insurance payments. He's smart, young, will run tests, send you to a cath lab immediately if need be, and will even work out payment plans for those who need help.

The scariest part about all of this for me is that both my father and grandfather died at around age sixty from complete heart failure. I'm a single dad with a 3 1/2 year old son so...honestly...I'm freaking out a bit over here but hey life ain't all puppy dogs and rainbows I suppose. But on the bright side my Nissen Fundo surgery recovery is going well.
