Hello guys. I've been dealing with chronic pericarditis for just about
a year but was just diagnosed recently after having an acute attack. The pain has been nonstop since then but varies with intensity.
I am tired of this disease and pretty much know more about
this disease than my current MDs and I am sure you do too.
For me what has helped me the most has been NSAIDs with a long half life, it hasn't really helped much with the pain but i can tell it has reduced the inflammation considerably due to other symptoms improving, and I've noticed those with chronic pericarditis have found relief with that as well unlike those with recurrent attacks, they find relief with just regular NSAIDs.
Keeping activity levels very low and a strict diet I believe are the cure to get rid of mine(nonstop chronic).
I've also noticed a few people reporting extreme benefit from anti inflammatory diets like a vegan diet.
I'm making this post for anyone to post any information on their symptoms, diet, lifestyle , meds anything that they find that improves their pericarditis or that may get rid of it altogether.
Plaquenil and prednisone dont do a thing for me, neither does colchicine.
Only aspirin, ibuprofen, celebrex, naproxen improve my symptoms a lot but never get rid of it.
Also a vegan and fruit diet has helped my inflammation markers(theyre normal but i still have pain).
