thigh hematoma after cardiac ablation

I REALLY WISH I KNEW. ITS BEEN A COUPLE OF YEARS FOR YOU NOW SO HOW LONG DID YOURS LAST? I HAD AN ABLATION 8 DAYS AGO AND I HAVE THE SAME THING AND ITS VERY PAINFUL. WAS YOUR ABLATION SUCCESSFUL? HOW ARE YOU NOW?

I've had a large hematoma, not that location, last over a month and then leave an iron deposit which looked likr the hematoma was still there. I had pain for about 4 weeks with it too.

The size of the hematoma can be the thing that causes it to remain long, but as FD said, check with your doctor.

I had a groin hematoma from a stent procedure once, because all he did to close the artery was to have a nurse put pressure on it for a while. I went to a different doctor for my second stent. He used a little machine to put a couple of stitches in the artery. Snick, snick! No pressure needed, no hematoma, no pain. It takes training and practice to use the machine and not all docs do it. I will definitely ask if I need anything like that again.

I had a cardiac ablation for pvc's (30,000 daily) 6 days ago. I have a large hematoma with swelling and brusing from my lower abd to mid thigh. Very painful. I am icing elevating and taking tordol. Im having difficulty sitting due to the swelling in my groin. Any ideas.
