i'm with teri - wishing everyone in the path of katrina the best, and it sounds like it was downgraded so i hope everyone is safe and sound.

i have a "missing nephew" in mobile - when my older brother died 2-1/2 years ago from an unexpected heart attack, my (now) 22 year old nephew sorta severed contact with us, for no reason that i know of, i think he just couldn't handle what happened to his dad.  anyway, he lives in mobile, and i'm sure he's fine, but of course i think of him often and especially with the hurricanes and pray that he is well.

thanks.  yeah, i am of course worried about him.  the only connection i have

to him is his mother, my brother's ex-wife.  i have written her 4 times with no

response.  she and i didn't have the greatest relationship.  i did talk to her last

winter and she said david would graduate this august (right now!) from auburn.

i don't know if he did or not.  i wrote again to ask her, but she quit responding,

and i don't know why!  i'm sad and frustrated and try not to worry, but that's

impossible. 

my situation with my other brother is not any better, i hate to say.  that leaves me

with very little family, which is why my healing well family means so much to me!

Hi all, I was ordered to rest my hand for 5 days. Yeah I'm still having problems with it. I might have found the GP I might switch too. He took care of my hand when I went in last week and he said he had no problem with taking me on as a new patient. He looked up my records and found out that 1 of the polyps they removed was precancer. The C word really scares me. I eat pretty healthy but all the years of Ulcertive colitis did a number on my colon. I am now really concentrating on getting the recommended amount of fiber a day and foods and supplements high in antioxidents. Haven't heard from my son in 2 weeks now from Iraq. I wish they would send him home so he can do something about the situation with his wife and baby. My daughter broke up with her boyfriend of 1 year and 8 months. It has been hard on all of us as we really got to know him well and he was a big part of our family. Oh well nothing we can do but accept it. Have to get to bed and rest my hand some more. Lil my leg hurt for a couple of months after my cath. I had it checked to make sure it was ok but it would hurt the most at the end of the day. Make sure you take your temp in case it is infected and check with the doc any way. Barb

I know what your talking about because mine didn't feel normal either and it sure hurt. The cold would make it hurt more too. I had mine done in January in Wisconsin so it was really cold out. It'll get better over time.

I just want to offer my prayers and best wishes to anyone in Georgia, Mississippi, or Louisianna who lost loved ones!!  From what I've seen and heard on the news it's just been a totally devastating Hurricane with tornadoes and flooding and fires, etc. and will be eventually affecting many of us in other states as well. 

There's not a whole lot anyone can say, but my thoughts are with you!!

Libby foryour nephew  contact  Red Cross, EOC where the  county is yuor  nephew lives best bet is to contact a Ham Radio OLperator in yuor town give him your nephews information and he can contact the Ham in the town he l;ives in and they can get information too and  relay it all back to you.

We at EOC use Ham radio operators and I have theri call signs etc so when we are called out we have a radio to  contact them and them us but we were taught that by  EOC and FEMA for anyone loking for a loved one Red Cross then a Hanm Radio Operator then EOC  in the town they live in. We just got word we are on call for we might have to go out after Labor Day to help with the relief efforts too so here goes our training into effect. I cannot wait I love the aderline rush. My friend from Church calls me and Aderline  Junkie. But  I'll ost where we are going then Byron is getting certified for Cave dive rescue he is allready a cetified  First responder for diving accidents now he will rescue people trappped in caves. Steven has a new job too that requires alot of traveling in town and   once a month down to Orlando Area he loves it. page and Baby doing ok too.

Libby I contacted someone from our EOC and they told me follow this.

1.contact a HAm radio Operator in yuor hometown.

2. relay all inf on yur nephew that yuo know

3. he will contact ham operator where yur nephew lives

4. leave  inf on how to contact yuo so either one will contact you.

5. Wait for they are still evacuating and the roads are still impassible and lots of lives lost. I will hope nad pray for the best please post something when you know it.

Teri i will post here when  we go afor how long but  yep got E-mail today just wait and see.  but were told they will let the water go down before the Vol go in. Please no snakes no snakes.Bt maybe it might be down in Miami region.

Hi everyone, my son called me to tell me he was back in North Carolina at his trailer. I guess it is now his trailer since his wife moved out on her own and dumped her baby at her moms in Tennessee. My son wants to talk to the Marine that is messing around with her. So far is supposedly just kissing. I think not. I feel so bad for my son to come home to an empty trailer. His wife just wants to party now and no longer be a mom or wife.  Both my sons cars are brokedown right now so he doesn't even have his own car to drive. She doesn't seem to care at all. I'm surprized she even picked him up when he got back. My heart is breaking for him. Remember how I told all of you that he hadn't even left the base when over there well it turns out he just told me that so I wouldn't worry and hurt my heart. I am so glad I didn't know he had been shot at and had his base bombed. I would have been a wreck. I think that was so sweet of him. Please pray for him. His name is Josh. Have to go my hand is killing me tonight. (My furry grandson slammed it into the door jam 3 weeks ago) Barb

Libby, you know I've never taken either drug ever before. I take a minimal dose of Klonopin 0.5 mg. at night. That's for anxiety and it really seems to help me!

I just had my Neurontin increased to 1200 mg. today. It's helping my nerve pain until I can get something done with that, but my migraine with my facial 'aura' is back like a' blast from the past'. The other med.'s for migraines don't get along with my other med.'s and I had a very bad reaction to the Topamax. So hope this does the trick!
I see my cardio Dr. on Fri. re my EF and blood work and it should all come back good and then hopefully get my referral to a neurosurgeon if that goes well - so they can assess my back and if there is anything left in their bag of tricks to do with it/me. lol :)
