I am a 37 yo woman. I had a cardiac ablation October 7th 2014 due to SVT. My SVT was sudden and new for me. I had undergone enormous stress two days earlier & it came on suddenly at work. I immediately went to the ER where they gave me something in my IV that brought it down immediately, but it didn't feel good, however it worked & for that I'm thankful. I was scheduled to have my ablation Aug but my nerves got the best of me so hence it was done in Oct. I don't remember a thing besides being awakened by the nurse.
My EP doctor said it was 99% successful and I should see him in 6 mos. I saw him in a couple of weeks due to pounding feeling in my chest but he assured me it was only a skipped heartbeat 💓 and it shouldn't continue but that my heart needs time to heal. I haven't had another since and all had been well.
I started back working the end of Nov. 2014 and I try to stay calm in all situations. Today I felt something weird in my chest, like slight pain or discomfort and a hint of fast heartbeat. I called my EP's nurse & left message for advice &/or an appointment. Not trying to assume the worst but it's been going fine for awhile now & I just want things to continue on as such. Advice???
