I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH PVCS SINCE 2006. BUT IT TOOK ME OVER A YEAR BEFORE I WENT TO THE DOCTOR. I WENT TO DONATE BLOOD AND WHEN THE GENTLEMEN TRY TO TAKE MY PULSE, HE GOT THIS FUNNY LOOK ON HIS FACE. HE WAS LIKE HAS ANYONE TOLD YOU THAT YOU HAVE AN IRREGULAR HEART BEAT. I WAS LIKE NO BUT I HAVE NOTICE SOMETHING IS WRONG. HE THEN PROCEEDS TO TELL ME HE COULDN'T TAKE MY BLOOD BECAUSE OF FEAR OF THROWING ME INTO A HEART ATTACK OR STROKE. GEEZ....GOOD WAY TO SCARE SOMEBODY. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WENT TO MY DOCTOR THE NEXT WEEK. MY DOCTOR DID A EKG AND WAS ABLE TO CAPTURE PVCS. OF COURSE, I AM PUT THRU ALL THE TEST, 30 DAY HEART MONITOR, ECHO AND STRESS TEST. EVERYTHING CAME BACK FINE JUST BEIGN PVCS AND A HEARTRATE THAT WANTS TO SOMETIMES GO TOO FAST. I WAS PUT ON 50MG OF BETA BLOCKER A DAY AND HAVE LEARN TO TELL WHEN I AM GETTING THAT REAL TIRED FEELING AND I KNOW TO SLOW DOWN AND TAKE IT EASY. I STOP CAFFEINE, DIET PILLS AND I AM VERY CAREFUL about WHAT SINUS MEDS I TAKE.
FAST FORWARD TO JANUARY 2015 I START GETTING THIS FEELING OF HITTING A WALL. I AM DOING GREAT AND GOING THRU MY NORMAL DAY AND THEN ALL OF SUDDEN I GET LIGHT HEADED AND HAVE TO LAY DOWN FOR FEAR OF PASSING OUT. I BEGIN TO GET PAINS IN MY LEFT ARM AND CHEST. I NOTICE MY HEART RATE AND PVCS ARE ALITTLE OUT OF CONTROL. I GO BACK TO MY DOCTOR WHO RAISE MY BETA BLOCKER TO 100 MG A DAY. I DO A 24 HOUR HEART MONITOR AND HERE IS WHAT IT SHOW:
"MONITORING STARTED AT 10:59 AM AND CONTINUED FOR 23 HOURS 59 MINUTES. THE AVERAGE HEART RATE WAS 89 BPM. THE MINIMUM HEART RATE WAS 63 BPM, OCCURRING AT 3:26:52 AM. THE MAXIMUM HEART RATE WAS 156 BPM, OCCURING AT 11:52:25 AM.
VENTRICULAR ECTOPIC ACTIVITY CONSISTED OF 7268 BEATS, OF WHICH 6 WERE IN COUPLETS, 4519 WERE IN SINGLE PVCS, 4 WERE IN INTERPOLATED PVCS, 3 WERE N R ON T, 2715 WERE SINGLE VES, 9 WERE IN LATE, 3 WERE IN BIGEMINY, 9 WERE IN TRIGOMINY.
THE PATENT'S RHYM INCLUDED 47 MINUTES 43 SEC OF TACHYCARDIA. THE FASTEST SINGLE EPISODE OF TACHYCARDIA OCCURRED AT 11:52:22 AM LASTING 8 SECONDS, WITH MAXIMUM HEART RATE OF 156 BPM.
SUPRAVENTRICULAR ECTOPIC ACTIVITY CONSISTED OF 653 BEATS, OF WHICH, 395 WERE IN 25 RUNS, 28 WERE IN ATRIAL COUPLETS, 169 WERE IN LATE BEATS, 61 WERE SINGLE PACS. THERE WAS 1 DROPPER BEAT. THE LONGEST R-R INTERVAL WAS 2.3 SECONDS OCCURRING AT 8:16:41 PM. THE LONGEST N-N INTERVAL WAS 1.8 SECONDS OCCURRING AT 12:26:22 PM. THE LONGEST SUPRAVENTRICULAR RUN OCCURRED AT 9:03:43 PM CONSISTING OF 41 BEATS WITH MAXIMUM HEART RATE OF 128 BPM. THE FASTEST SUPRAVENTRICULAR RUN OCCURRED AT 11:49:46 AM, CONSISTING OF 3 BEATS WITH MAXIMUM HEART RATE OF 158 BPM."
THE DAY I WORN THE HEART MONITOR WAS ACTUALLY A GOOD DAY. NO FEELING OF HITTING A WALL OR ANY CHEST/LEFT ARM PAIN. I WAS ACTUALLY WORRIED IT WOULDN'T SHOW ANYTHING. SO NOW I AM LIKE WHEN I HAVE THE FEELING OF HITTING A WALL AND HAVE THE PAIN WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY HEART?
ALSO, I HAD A ECHO A WEEK AFTER MY HEART MONTIOR AND EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD ON IT. HERE IS SOME OF THE REPORT ON IT:
"SECTOR SCANNING OF THE HEART CHAMBERS REVEALS ADEQUATE LEFT VENTRICLAR CONTRACTILITY, WITH EJECTION FRACTION OF 65%. THE EXCURSIONS OF THE AORTIC, MITRAL AND TRICUSPID VALES APPEAR TO BE ADEQUATE. THE AORTIC VALVE IS TRILEAFLET. INTRACARDIAC MASSES ARE NOT WELL DELINEATED IN THIS STUDY.
THE INTERNAL DIMENSIONS OF THE HEART CHAMBERS APPEAR TO BE WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS. THERE IS NO PERCIARDIAL EFFUSION OR MITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE. THE ANATOMIC RELATIONSHIP IS NORMAL.
M-MODE ECHOCARDIOGRAM: AORTIC ROOT: 2.7, LA 3.2, LVD 5.1, LVS 2.8, IVS 0.8, LVPW 0.8, E-A 0.5
DOPPLER ECHOCARDIGRAPHY: COLOR AND PULSE-WAVE DOPPLER MAPPING ACROSS THE AORTIC, MITRAL, AND TRICUSPID VALES DID NOT REVEAL ANY ABNORMAL SYSTOLIC OR DIASTOLIC TURBULENCE CONSISTENT WITH INSUFFICIENCY OR STENOSIS. PRESSURE HALF-TIME RECORDING ACROSS THE MIRTAL VALUE IS 75 MILLISECONDS AND THE MAXIMUM INSTANTANEOUS FLOW VELOCITY ACROSS THE AORTIC VALVE IS 1 METER PER SECOND."
SO MY HEART LOOKS GOOD.
I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND A LITTLE BIT HIGH CHOLESTEROL. MY FAMILY HISTORY OF HEART DISEASE IS MY MOTHER HAD A STINT PUT IN FOR A BLOCKAGE WHEN SHE WAS 52 YEARS OLD. MY BROTHER, HAD A 90% BLOCKAGE AT 35 YEARS OLD. MY FATHER'S MOTHER HAD CONJESTION HEART FAILURE. MY MOTHER'S MOTHER HAD open HEART SURGERY DUE TO BLOCKAGE. MY MOTHER'S SISTER HAD 4 open HEART SURGERIES. MY MOTHER'S BROTHER HAD WHAT THEY CALL A WIDOW MAKER. MY MOTHER'S OTHER BROTHER HAS HAD TWO HEART VALUE REPLACEMENT SURGERIES.
I HAVENT SEEM MY HEART DOCTOR YET. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON APRIL 9, 2015. BUT I AM PRETTY SURE HE IS JUST GOING TO TELL ME THAT IT IS JUST MY PVCS AND PACS.
I HAVE SEVERAL QUESTIONS:
1. IS THERE SOMETIME I CAN DO TO MAKE THE PVCS AND PACS LESS??
2. WHY AM I GETTING THIS HIT THE WALL FEELING? I MEAN I DONT FEEL ANYTHING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT IS LIKE I HIT A WALL AND I HAVE TO SIT DOWN BECAUSE I AM AFRAID OF PASSING OUT.
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO ME AND ANY ADVICE WOULD BE HELPFUL.
