well, short history:
first of all, let me say: without being rude, I don't want to hear " your heart is fine, don't worry"
" do you want a diagnosis", I KNOW my heart is fine, I just want some answers from people who
suffer from the same thing I do. and some better understanding, I don't google things anymore,
so id just like some answers, maybe advice, anything.
ive been getting palps since march 18th of this year. was in the hospital plenty of times.
was diagnosed with anxiety, which ive never had, atleast I never noticed it if I did.
I've got health anxiety now, bad, and I constantly worry about
my heart, especially
when I get palpitations..
I was told one night in the ER, that I had a heart murmur. something I never knew I had.
I went in for an echocardiogram, to confirm that it was the mitral valve, and tests
concluded that it was in fact Mitral Valve Prolapse. with trace amounts of regurgitation.
I also had a 24 hour holter monitor for the heart palpitations,
both tests came back, and my dr didn't seem too worried about
either. so I didn't do
anything further for the heart palpitations, I was told id need another echocardiogram
in about
2 years just to check on my valve again.
I think I read somewhere that MVP can cause palpitations, and dizziness?
I can be fine for weeks, with only a few palpitations, then bam, they come back.
at one point at the beginning I was getting upwards of 10 a minute.
now, ill get 50 a day, tops. ( the ones I can feel, atleast )
I've pretty well gotten my anxiety under control, without the use of medication.
the questions I have are:
- Does MVP actually cause the palpitations im getting?
- Does MVP cause the occasional dizziness I get?
- Does the heat trigger palps?
- Or is it just because im Obese, and the heat makes me extremely hot, and
therefore my heart has to beat faster and harder to keep up with everything
so that makes my valve need to work harder also?
- Can my blood sugar cause the palpitations?
( i'm pre-diabetic and had cake for my birthday yesterday, and last night
was when the palps started. its also 90 + degrees out. and soooo humid. )
Sometimes I get them after I stand up, after sitting or bending down.
- What causes this?
I've also possibly got fibromyalgia, and ive got GERD I was also recently diagnosed with.
I read that most drs don't think that stomach problems cause palps, but im not sure...
thanks so much for reading this far.
