Angiogram

hi jakes mum. I had mine done, they are pretty routine actually. they usually go through the groin. I found it fine, no pain or discomfort, the guys were good fun, I was cracking jokes throughout. since I was laying flat I could not see the monitor. obviously you got to be pretty still. if you are clogged up they will know real quick. the dye does not lie!!! you will be fine. as larry would say, peace.

Jakesmom - i had two, in June and August. First one they put 2 stents in, second one, nothing.

IMPORTANT: A lot of doctors go through the wrist now, instead of the groin. Thats what happened with me. My understanding is that it makes the recovery much easier. I had my first angio on a Friday, and the next day, i went to see a Billy Joel Concert in Manhattan

Its really nothing. They give you some drugs to keep you relaxed, there is no pain.

Yes, they plan to go through my wrist if possible. They said my arteries there looked promising, so I sure hope they are able to do it there.

I figure they will find something to fix, because my diastolic number is riding high, and I've tried a lot of meds to control it, but they are not helping.

Looking forward to getting things repaired, so I can breathe a bit easier.
