Hello: I remember being 25 having my first round of heart palpitations/skipped beats/short runs of tach... over the years, I am now 60, they have gotten worse so that I have gone to the ER a number of times and feel that virtually every day I am going to die. I cry all the time and feel so depressed. It was discovered that I have some atrial palpitations...I think almost 200 (wore a Holter Monitor) and 13,000 PVC's - hence, my uncomfortable feelings in my chest. Being an anxious person doesn't help! This makes my anxiety go off the charts, of course! I tried Bispropolol 1.25 mg...couldn't take it...tried it for about a week. Heart rate is low to start off with - around 55-60 and it dropped to low on this med, made me very depressed and anxious. Went to the cardiologist and he gave me Digoxin low dose to use when I needed it. Pharmacist said, WHY DID HE GIVE YOU THAT MED? I didn't get the Rx filled. Went to my GP, he gave me 120 mg Diltiazem (Calcium Channel blocker) which I will try. I know I have triggers (eating too much, GERD, stress, I cut out all caffeine, cut out my ADD med of Methylphenidate 10 mg a day) started taking potassium, magnesium, minerals...vitamins...I am 5'9" and weight just under 200 lbs. I have osteoarthritis and severe pain sometimes causes the PVC's too, just to note. I have one or two good days and then 2 or 3 horrible days where I just want to die. I am to see a specialist to discuss cardiac ablation (I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada) and it's about a year wait to even see this doctor! Any help or direction would be appreciated! I am off to get greens to juice and buy V8 to try too....any direction? Oh, had all the blood work that came back normal too, but I understand intracellular potassium/magnesium is NOT the same as available in the blood, so can't really tell what you may be low in. Thank you!
