Hello all
I had a doppler test done on my carotid arteries and it shows my right artery is blocked 90%. My optometrist has been seeing hemmorhages in my eyes for about 5 years, and now he and and a opthamologist can see embolisms in both eyes. Therefore I was sent to a neurosurgeon to see about having (maybe) an endarterectomy to clean the plaque from my artery, so I will not have a stroke.
My glucose is also high...about 2 stages away from diabetis.
At this point now I am very confused....I saw the neurosurgeon on Monday...he checked all my reflexes .. He had all the other information faxed to him.
So he told me I have not had a stroke, and some people live with blocked arteries, and that I do have other issues and to keep taking PLAVIX.
He did not explain any of this to me or give me a chance to ask any questions.
Is it quite normal to live with this artery blocked?
I thought I was going to him to prevent a STOKE.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
