Heart Jumping Like Crazy--Scared

Since then the Palps went away and had no problems for over 2wks.  Then they came back and were worse then ever and I panicked I went to see the nurse about them and she said I was fine.  Then they went away again.

Well on Friday evening I had a few palps and I was like great they are coming back again.   Then Sat they were constant all day long.  Same for Sunday, and the same for today.  Today I took the phone under my ear so that I could hear my heartbeat.  Well from what i heard it is doing a normal heart beat, then a pause, then a strong beat, then 2 or 3 fast beats, and then a pause and so on and so on. I have never heard the fast ones before and now I am getting more worried.

Anyone have any ideas?  These things just won't stop no matter what I do.

I just had to post.. i havent been around in awhile.. but i find for me sometimes staying away is better.. I too have been diagnosed with MVP. Its not fun i know with the heart palps..i used to freak out with every one.. i have tried to reduce my caffeine intake as that plays a big part of it.. however if i do have chocoloate or pop and i get palps i know its my own fault lol.. so it doesnt scare me very much. They are at a point with me that they are more annoying than anything.. I also get them like you bandit where it "jumps" around so not to worry its all normal with MVP. Eventually ya learn to cope with them as best as you can.. hope this helps

I thought I was having some other issues with my heart. I was have Palps scared the fire out of me wasn't real sure what was going on.

I talk with my cardio he was going to put a heart monitor on me (said it could be something serious) then I ask him if it could be caffeine he said it could be so anyways we skip the heart monitor and I cut down on the caffeine and they quit!!! (sidenote I'm not suppose to be drinking anything with caffeine anyway) LOL Thank goodness mine was related to caffeine!!

I have also notice if I forget to take my Coreg (beta blocker) I start getting palps.

I hope you find out what the problem is soon.

Hi there, i suffer from a anxiety/panic attack disorder and heart palptations are symptoms of anxiety. I get palptations alot also you dont have to worry its nothing, if you think about it to be something more than it is, you'll scare yourself and produce a panic attack. It feels like somethings wrong with your heart and on your mind your thinking your going to have a heart attack and die. This happens to be a symptom of anxiety. I have read most of your stories and in most of them you have seen Doctors and Nurses and other Medical Professionals, who have all said there is nothing to worry about and they are proberly right. Because no one can die from Anxiety or panic attacks, But believe me it feels like you are, you see other people who look so comfortable with themselves and you dont feel right, because your so scared of things happing with your heart and body that your having a hard time living life, because your not comfortable at all. Thanks for posting your post. That was very helpful to me. I have been trying to get over this anxiety for 2 years now. I finally went to the Dr about 2 wks ago and was put on Celexa. Seems to be working ok, but have still had some close call panic attacks. Recently, I have had chest pains and my heart feels like it jumps every few minutes. I am happy to hear that this too can be blaimed on the anxiety!   :)
