pericarditis info greatly needed

hi,

     i am a 26 year old male and have had pericarditis for a year now i am taking 20mg of prednisone a day and also taking percacet due to pain in my joints i am now seeing a rumatoligist along with 2 other cardioligists i feel like i am backed in a corner they wanted to do suregery but have opted against it as they feel it will pass and i am to young

if anyone can help me and pass along some info and/or experiences it would be greatly appreciated

sad  Hi mike, if you make it baack to this site, sorry you did not get any responses, usually that means the people who are on, like myself do not know anything about the condition and are hoping someone will come along that does.  did yu find any answers elsewher?  by the way, welcome to our forum

no i did not find answers anywhere else i wish i had answers for others myself included not even doctors can give me answers so tell me how long have you had pericarditis and some of the stuff you deal with  thanks again

nono  i do not have i\that, that is why i know next to nothing about it, i have coronary artery disease.  mike, if you go way back on hte posts list you will see other topics from two or three weeks and even months ago that deal with your issue, you can probably find something there.  i do not know where everybody is, on vacation i guess. usually you would get at least 3 or 4 responses. this is a great site, do not give up on us.  the more people who just peek in and help others with what they know the better our forum will be. do you mind explaining to me what pericarditis is.  you are awful young to be needing all these things the doctors want to do. i know they must be taking your age in total consideration.

well pericarditis is inflamation and fluid between the pericardium and the heart the pericardium kind of lubricates the heart now since i have fluid it causes strain and rubbing that can mimic a heart attack
it is very painful and flairs up i am taking steroids to keep down inflamation also i take percaset for pain
i have had this a little over a year now and it is very hard to deal woth anymore
